"Questo è il punto in cui incomincia qualcosa", scrive il comunicato stampa per presentare la release n°1 della mini netlabel indonesiana Mizou . Il suono di questo EP di Mademoi Selle (one woman project di Etza Meisyara ), " Bipolar Disorder ", ha colpito la mia attenzione sin dal primo ascolto. Un mix di jazz acustico ed elettronico difficile da definire, con alcuni chilogrammi di groove da vendere. Tre elementi essenziali: il piano, in netta evidenza (che a volte è talmente meccanico e "dritto" sui sedicesimi che sembra quasi quantizzato); il basso (che  in alcuni episodi sembra imprestato dalla gloriosa Yamaha DX7 dei primi anni 80, mentre in altri è nettamente acustico) ed una batteria che sposta i suoi colpi dal battere al levare con estrema semplicità. Ed è forse proprio questo l'aspetto che mi affascina di più di questo "Bipolar Disorder", jazz-funk meccanizzato suonato con tensione positiva ed una forza espressiva esplosiva. Etza Meisyara, dopo passate experience in a variety of groups as a drummer, bassist, pianist and guitarist and a release in April 2010 for Stoneage Records ( Collapse "light years away from the energy of jazzy" Bipolar Disorder ") was closed in front of his home computer and in the company of all its instruments has reorganized all the knowledge acquired over time and emotions ("I am a product of all my experience," he writes in his blog Etza). Mademoi Saddles sounds like a band, listen to the groove of "Psyche's Key", and leaps from a funky beat to a rhythm of swing with just the snap of the fingers. In "Himitsu" (the only cover of the EP, originally written by Ringo Shiina) evokes atmospheres detective film jumping in to a jam session performed in front of the mirror. Etza, besides being a great multi-instrumentalist has vast fantasy and imagination. A young talent to be followed carefully ...." this is the place where something begins. " Exactly.
